The petitioners have filed this writ petition seeking demarcation with respect to property bearing No. Khewat no. 62, Khata No. 128, Khasra No. 71 situated in Village Humayun Pur, Arjun Nagar, New Delhi-110029.

Learned counsel for the petitioners states that the petitioners have made representations for this purpose to Delhi Development Authority ["DDA"] on 11.11.2024 and to the concerned sub-Divisional Magistrate ["SDM"] on 27.12.2024 [both part of Annexure P-8 to the writ petition]. He submits that the petitioners would be satisfied with an order directing the concerned respondents to consider their representations and dispose of the same.

Learned counsel for the Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi ["GNCTD"] and DDA are present on advance notice. They submit that the area in question has been urbanised by notification issued under Section 507 of the Delhi Municipal Corporation Act, 1957. However, they are at issue as to which agency has the jurisdiction to carry out demarcation.

Learned counsel for DDA suggests that it is the Revenue Authority of GNCTD, whereas learned counsel for GNCTD states that it is the DDA.

Either way, having regard to the limited nature of the relief sought by the petitioners at this stage, the writ petition, alongwith the pending application, is disposed of with the direction that the Deputy Director (Land Management), DDA and the SDM, Hauz Khas will coordinate to resolve the jurisdictional issue amongst themselves, within the next four weeks. The concerned respondent will then deal with the petitioners' representations and communicate its decision with reasons thereupon, to the petitioners within eight weeks thereafter.
