This is a petition filed under Article 226 of the Constiution of India read with section 528 of BNSS seeking issuance of directions to respondent no.1 to protect the life and liberty of the petitioners from respondent nos. 2 and 3 i.e. the parents of petitioner No.1.

It is stated that the petitioner nos. 1 and 2 got married on 11.06.2024 according to Hindu Rites and Ceremonies and are residing together. Respondent Nos. 2 and 3, being the parents of petitioner no.1 are unhappy with the marriage and there is an apprehension of safety of petitioner nos. 1 The authenticity of the order can be re-verified from Delhi High Court Order Portal by scanning the QR code shown above. Mr Abhinav Kumar, learned counsel appears for and on behalf of Mr Sanjay Lao, Standing Counsel and accepts notice for respondent no. 1. He states that it is the duty of respondent No.1 to ensure safety and security of every citizen including that of the petitioners. The phone number of the SHO as well as Beat Officer of the concerned police station has already been shared with the petitioners and the number of the petitioners has also been shared with the Beat Officer and the SHO.

The Beat Officer/SHO shall ensure that each and every call of the petitioner is duly addressed and immediate action shall be taken thereupon. 8.

The petition is disposed of accordingly.
