This present writ petition is filed by the petitioner seeking directions to the respondents for removal of his name from the list of 'Bad Character' and entry in the Surveillance Register-X, Part-II, Bundle 'A' at Police Station Nangloi. 2.
The learned counsel for the petitioner refers to Rule 23.13(4) of the Punjab Police Rules, 1934 which provides that the Superintendent may, at his discretion, order the destruction of the personal file of any person of whom a history sheet does not exist when such person has been of good behaviour continuously for seven years.

The learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner has not been involved in any offence for more than seven years. He submits that in such circumstances, the respondents be directed to remove the name of the petitioner The authenticity of the order can be re-verified from Delhi High Court Order Portal by scanning the QR code shown above. The learned standing counsel for the State submits that the case of the petitioner is under consideration and appropriate order will be passed in accordance with the Punjab Police Rules, 1934, which are applicable in Delhi.

In view of the above, no further order is required to be passed at this stage.

Let an appropriate order be passed within four weeks from today in accordance with applicable rules and law. Needless to say, the petitioner is at liberty to approach this Court in case any grievance remains.

The petition stands disposed of.
