% 23.01.2025 By way of the present petition filed under Articles 226 and 227 of the Constitution of India read with section 528 of the Bhartiya Nagrik Suraksha Sanhita 2023, the petitioner seeks a direction for expeditious disposal of the trial in case FIR No. 230/2019 dated 19.12.2019 registered under sections 489A/489B/489C/489D/ 489E/120B/201/34 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860 and section 25 of the Arms Act, 1959 at P.S.: Special Cell, Delhi. 2.

The record shows that the subject FIR was registered on 19.12.2019; the petitioner is stated to be in judicial custody from 20.12.2019; and that charges in the matter were framed vide order dated 24.02.2023 passed by the learned trial court.

A perusal of order-sheets of the learned trial court shows that out of the 38 prosecution witnesses cited in the chargesheet, 15 witnesses already stand examined.

The offence under section 489A IPC is punishable with imprisonment up to life.

In the circumstances, no ground is made out for directing the learned trial court to expedite trial in the subject FIR. 6.

The petition is accordingly dismissed.

Needless to add that the petitioner shall be at liberty to file for other appropriate relief, as may be permissible, in accordance with law.
