By way of the present application, the applicant seeks early hearing of the present petition.

FIR bearing No. 149/2016, registered at Police Station Adarsh Nagar, New Delhi, for the commission of offence punishable under Sections 354/354B/341/34 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860 (hereafter 'IPC') and all consequent proceedings emanating therefrom.

Issue notice. The learned APP accepts notice on behalf of the State. 6.

All the petitioners and respondent no. 2 are present before this Court and have been identified by their counsel and Investigating Officer (IO) concerned from Police Station Adarsh Nagar, New Delhi. 7.

Brief facts of the case are that on 14.03.2016, due to some dispute and differences between families of petitioner no. 1 and respondent no. 2, the present FIR was registered against the petitioners on the complaint of respondent no. 2. It is stated that in the month of April, 2023, the chargesheet was filed before the concerned court. Further, it is stated that with intervention of the family and friends, the parties have now amicably settled their dispute vide a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) dated 09.12.2025.

On a query made by this Court, respondent no. 2 who has been identified by the IO, has categorically stated that she has entered into compromise out of her own free will and without any pressure, coercion or threat. Therefore, she has no objection if the present FIR is quashed. 9.

In view of the above, that the parties have amicably resolved their differences out of their own free will, and without any coercion, no useful purpose will be served by continuing the proceedings, rather the same would create further acrimony between them. It would thus be in interest of justice to quash the abovementioned FIR and the proceedings pursuant thereto. There is no legal impediment in quashing the FIR in question. Accordingly, FIR bearing No. 149/2016, registered at Police Station Adarsh Nagar, New Delhi, for the commission of offence punishable under Sections 354/354B/341/34 of IPC and all consequential proceedings emanating therefrom are quashed.

In view of above, the present petition stands disposed of. 12.

The next date of hearing i.e. 15.05.2026 stands cancelled. 13.
