The present petition has been filed under Section 29A(5) of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996 seeking extension of mandate of the learned Arbitrator for a period of two months with effect from 03.01.2026.

As is apparent, the said two months have expired, since we are on the 19.03.2026 and because no party had appeared on the last date of hearing i.e., 27.01.2026, and the matter has now been listed for hearing today.

This Court is of the view that, for the reasons as stated in the application, and since the proceedings are at a fairly advanced stage, in the interests of continuity and justice, it would be necessary to extend the mandate of the Tribunal. The period from 03.01.2026 till today will stand regularised.
