% 09.01.2017 Petitioners and respondent no.2 are friends. A quarrel took place between them on some trivial issue which had led to registration of FIR 198/2016 under Sections 323/342/356/379/427/34 IPC at police station Dwarka North. Subsequently, Section 365 IPC has been added in the FIR. Respondent no.2 is present in Court and has been identified by SI Vinay Kumar of police station Dwarka North. It is submitted that matter has been settled between the petitioners and respondent no. 2 vide Compromise Deed (Annexure P-1).

Respondent no. 2 submits that he has settled the matter with the petitioners of his own free will and without any undue force, pressure or coercion. He further submits that he does not wish to pursue the

FIR any further in view of the settlement and the same may be quashed. Keeping in mind that a settlement has been arrived at between the friends i.e. petitioners and respondent no.2, I am of the view that no fruitful purpose would be served in keeping the present criminal proceedings alive. Accordingly, in the interest of justice, FIR No. 323/342/356/365/379/427/34 IPC registered at police station Dwarka North and the consequent proceedings emanating therefrom are quashed.

Writ petition is disposed of in the above terms. A.K. PATHAK, J.
