This petition has been filed by the petitioner, challenging the Show Cause Notice ("SCN") dated 21.12.2024 by which the petitioner has been called upon to show cause as to why he should not be dismissed from service under Rule 22 of the Border Security Force Rules, 1969 (in short, "BSF Rules").

The learned counsel for the petitioner confines his prayer to the petitioner being granted an opportunity of submitting a further reply to the SCN, which should be considered by the respondents while taking a final decision on the SCN.

Notice is accepted by Ms. Iram Majid, the learned counsel for the respondents.

We have enquired from the learned counsel for the respondents as to whether the respondents have already taken a decision on the SCN. The learned counsel for the respondents, on instructions, submits that the final decision is yet to be taken. 7.

Keeping in view the above, we allow the petitioner to submit a further reply to the SCN before the Competent Authority within a period of two weeks from today.

In case the said further reply/representation is received from the petitioner, the Competent Authority shall consider the same while taking a final decision on the SCN.

With the above direction, the petition and the pending application are disposed of.

We clarify that we have not examined the merit of the contents of the petition nor should be assumed to have commented on the same.
