The petitioner seeks quashing of FIR No.1329/2015, under Sections 498-A/406/34 IPC, registered at P.S. Vasant Kunj (South). 2.

Subject FIR has been recorded out of a matrimonial discord. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the parties have settled their disputes and settlement agreement dated 27.06.2016 has been executed between the parties. He further submits that in terms of the settlement, parties have dissolved their marriage by mutual consent and decree of divorce has been passed on 04.02.2017. 3.

Respondent No.2 is present in person and is identified by the Investigating Officer. She confirms that she has settled with the petitioner and does not wish to press charges and agrees to quashing of the said FIR.

In view of the fact that the parties have settled their disputes and the respondent No.2 does not wish to press charges against the petitioner, I am of the view that no fruitful purpose would be served in continuing with the proceedings and ends of justice would be served in quashing the FIR and the consequent proceedings. 5.

In view of the above, the petition is allowed.

FIR No.1329/2015, under Sections 498-A/406/34 IPC, registered at P.S. Vasant Kunj (South) and the consequent proceedings therefrom are, accordingly quashed.
