By way of the present petition, the petitioners are seeking quashing of FIR bearing no. 669/2021, dated 19.11.2021, registered at Police Station Karawal Nagar, Delhi for the commission of offence punishable under Sections 406/498A/34 of Indian Penal Code, 1860 (hereafter 'IPC'). 4.
The learned APP for the State, on instructions of Investigating Officer, states that the factum of death of of Mr. Manoj Goel and Mr. Rajeev Goel stands verified. On the last date of hearing, i.e., 05.02.2026, the respondent no. 2 had appeared and made a statement that she has received the entire amount as per the settlement and has no objection if the FIR is quashed.

Since the verification report has been filed, there is no impediment in quashing the FIR.

All the remaining petitioners are present before this Court and have been identified by their counsel and Investigating Officer (IO) concerned, Police Station, Karawal Nagar, Delhi.

Brief facts of the case are that the marriage between the Mr. Manoj Goel and the respondent no. 2 was solemnized at Delhi on 02.07.2014, in accordance with Hindu rites. Upon the complaint by respondent no. 2, the present FIR came to be registered against the petitioners. It is stated that with intervention of the family and friends, the parties have now amicably settled their dispute vide Compromise Deed dated 18.07.2023. 8.
On a query made by this Court, respondent no. 2 who has been identified by the IO, has categorically stated that she has entered into compromise out of her own free will and without any pressure, coercion or threat. Therefore, she has no objection if the present FIR is quashed. 9.
In view of the above, that the parties have amicably resolved their differences out of their own free will, and without any coercion, no useful purpose will be served by continuing the proceedings, rather the same would create further acrimony between them. It would thus be in interest of justice to quash the abovementioned FIR and the proceedings pursuant thereto. There is no legal impediment in quashing the FIR in question. 10.
Accordingly, FIR bearing no. 669/2021, dated 19.11.2021, registered at Police Station Karawal Nagar, Delhi for the commission of offence punishable under Sections 406/498A/34 of IPC and all consequential proceedings emanating therefrom are quashed.
