The petitioners have filed the present petition, inter alia, praying that respondent nos.1 to 3 be directed to provide protection to the petitioners. It is stated that petitioner no.2 (Dr. Mohd Jamshed) was married to respondent no.4. However, they have since separated. It is also stated that petitioner nos.1 and 2 have since married each other. The petitioners claim that they apprehend harm at the hands of respondent nos.4 to 7. 2.

It is in the aforesaid context that the petitioners filed the present petition seeking that they be afforded protection from respondent no.4 and her family members.

In view of the averments made in the present petition, this Court had, by an order dated 14.10.2019, directed the SHO, PS Malviya Nagar to

provide necessary protection to the petitioners. 4.

The SHO, PS Malviya Nagar was also directed to provide the contact numbers of the beat constable of the concerned area in order to enable the petitioners to contact him in case of any eventuality. 5.

The said order is made absolute.

The SHO, PS Malviya Nagar shall provide such protection to the petitioners, as he considers necessary.

It is also clarified that this Court has not expressed any opinion as to whether the marriage between the petitioners is valid or that petitioner no.2 ought to be treated as divorced from respondent no.4. All contentions of the concerned parties in this regard are reserved. The above order has been granted only for protection of the petitioners and should not be construed as granting any legitimacy to the relationship between petitioner no.1 and petitioner no.2.
