This is a petition under Section 29A (4) & (5) of the Arbitration & Conciliation Act, 1996 seeking extension of mandate of the Arbitral Tribunal for making the arbitral award.

Material on record indicates that the Petitioner filed a petition under Section 9 of the Arbitration & Conciliation Act and this Court vide Order dated 02.02.2018 appointed an Arbitrator to adjudicate upon the disputes between the parties. It is stated that the Petitioner filed a petition seeking extension of time by filing O.M.P. (MISC.) (COMM.) No. 688/2023 and this Court vide Order dated 10.01.2024 extended the mandate of the Tribunal for a period of one year from 10.01.2024. 3.

It is stated that the matter is at the stage of final arguments. It is stated that since mandate of the Tribunal for making the award has come to an end The authenticity of the order can be re-verified from Delhi High Court Order Portal by scanning the QR code shown above. on 10.01.2025, the Petitioner has approached this Court for extension of time for making the award.

Learned Counsel for the Petitioner states that all the allegations made against the Respondent on their conduct to the arbitration stands eschewed and the present petition be considered as the simplicitor petition for extension of mandate of the Arbitrator.

It is stated that the arbitration is at the stage of final arguments and arguments are yet to be advanced. Learned Counsel for the Petitioner states that at least one year would be required for making the Arbitral Award. 6.

In view of the fact that the matter is at the stage of stage of final arguments, this Court is inclined to extend the mandate of the Arbitral Tribunal for a period of six months from 10.01.2025 so that the Award can be pronounced and no further extension of time would be required by the Tribunal.

The petition is disposed of along with the pending applications, if any.
