The petitioners have filed the present petition, inter alia, praying that direction be issued to respondent no. 1 to provide protection to the petitioners as they are apprehensive of their safety at the hands respondent nos. 2 to 6.

The petitioners state that they have married against the wishes of family members of petitioner no. 1. It is stated that respondent nos. 2 to 6, being unhappy with this marriage, have held out threats to the petitioners. 4.

Mr. Kundu, the learned Additional Standing Counsel appearing for the State states that the address of the petitioners has been verified.

In view of the above, the concerned SHO is directed to evaluate the threat perception and provide such protection to the petitioners as may be considered necessary. The SHO may provide telephone numbers of the Beat staff so that they can be contacted by the petitioners in case of any eventuality.

In view of the above, no further orders are required to be passed in this petition. Accordingly, the same is disposed of. The pending application also stands disposed of.
