The petitioners have filed the present petition, inter alia, praying that directions be issued to respondent nos. 2 and 3 (Deputy Commissioner of Police North District and SHO, P.S. Alipur, North District, respectively) to provide protection to the petitioners.

The petitioners claim that they have attained the age of majority and have since married. The petitioners are apprehensive about their safety as

they have married contrary to the wishes of the family members of petitioner no.1. The petitioners claim that they are residing in Duliya Colony, Village Alipur, Delhi-110036.

In view of the averments made in the present petition, the concerned SHO (respondent no.3) is directed to make inquiries and if he finds that there is a real threat, he shall provide such security as he considers fit. 6.

It is clarified that this order shall not preclude the concerned authorities from taking necessary action in accordance with law, if it is found that petitioner no.1 is a minor.

The petition is disposed of with the aforesaid directions. 8.
