BAIL APPLN. 429/2026 1.

The applicant was granted interim bail by order dated 17.01.2026 for a period of ten days. In the said order, it was noted that the prosecutrix and her family members did not wish to make any submissions other than those advanced by the learned Additional Public Prosecutor. 2.

The grounds for grant of interim bail were to enable the applicant to make financial arrangements for the chemotherapy and cancer treatment of his elder half-brother. verified that the applicant's brother is suffering from Stage IV cancer and was required to undergo chemotherapy at the Cancer Society of Kashmir, Chanapora, Srinagar.

By way of the present application, an extension of interim bail is sought on the ground that some further time is required to make adequate financial arrangements. It is stated by Mr. Vansh Choudhary, learned counsel for the applicant, that some financial arrangements have been made, but a further period of one week would be adequate to meet the needs.

Having heard learned counsel for the parties, and in view of the fact that the subsisting medical condition of the applicant's brother has already been verified, the interim bail granted to the applicant by order dated 17.01.2026 is extended for a further period of one week, on the same terms and conditions as mentioned in the aforesaid order. 5.

The application is disposed of in these terms. 6.

It is clarified that any observations made in the present order are solely for the purpose of deciding the present bail application and shall not influence the trial proceedings, nor shall they be construed as an expression of opinion on the merits of the case. 7.

Copy of the order be communicated to the concerned Sessions Court and concerned Jail Superintendent for information and compliance.
