Petitioner seeks quashing of orders dated 30.08.2024 and 18.09.2024 whereby his prayer for premature relief did not find favour by the concerned Sentence Review Board (SRB).

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that one of the reasons assigned is that a blind man had been murdered. He states that the SRB did not consider the fact that his co-convict, who was also facing similar allegation and had been held guilty for committing murder of same blind person, was granted remission by them, in the same meeting. 3.
However, after hearing arguments for some time, learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that he would not press the present petition in case, the case of the petitioner is considered afresh by SRB in its next meeting. Mr. Sanjeev Bhandari, ASC for the State appears on advance and submits that the case of the petitioner would be considered by the Board in the next meeting in accordance with the settled principles of law and guidelines laid down by this Court in Santosh Kumar Singh vs. State (Govt. of the NCT) of Delhi, 2025 SCC OnLine Del 10585.

Resultantly, the present petition is disposed of as not pressed, with the direction to the concerned Board to take up the application of the petitioner herein in the next meeting, and to consider the same in accordance with law. 6.
Petitioner would be at liberty to file petition afresh in case, his request for remission is not acceded to.

A copy of this Order be sent to the Jail Superintendent for information and necessary compliance.
