By way of this writ petition, the petitioner assails an externment order dated 03.12.2025, passed by the Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police, West District, New Delhi, and an order dated 07.01.2026, passed by the Appellate Authority, whereby her appeal against the aforesaid order was rejected.

Pursuant to notice being issued on 19.03.2026, Mr. Rahul Tyagi, learned Additional Standing Counsel, appeared on behalf of the State on 28.03.2026, when the following order was recorded: "Without prejudice to other contentions of the petitioner, Mr. Mir Akhtar Hussain, learned counsel for the petitioner, submits that the appellate order dated 07.01.2026, passed under Section 51 of the Delhi Police Act, 1978, does not contain adequate reasons for rejection of the submissions of the petitioner recorded in paragraph 2 W.P.(CRL) 381/2026 The authenticity of the order can be re-verified from Delhi High Court Order Portal by scanning the QR code shown above. Mr. Rahul Tyagi, learned Additional Standing Counsel for the State, seeks an opportunity to take instructions." 3.

Mr. Sangeet Sibou, learned counsel for the State, states, upon instructions, that the matter may be remanded to the Appellate Authority for a fresh decision in accordance with law.

Consequently, the order dated 07.01.2026 is set aside and the petitioner's appeal [Case No. 248/2025: Anita v. Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police, West District, New Delhi] is remanded to the Appellate Authority for a fresh decision in accordance with law. 5.

Having regard to the facts and circumstances of the case, the Court trusts that the Appellate Authority will endeavor to dispose of the matter as expeditiously as possible.

The date of hearing before the Appellate Authority be communicated to the petitioner through Mr. Akhtar Hussain, learned counsel.

The writ petition, alongwith pending applications, stands disposed of in terms of the aforesaid.
