Petitioner has approached this Court with the following prayers: "a. To allow this writ and issue a writ or order or direction thereby taking appropriate action against the Respondent No. 1 & 2 for violating the Fundamental Rights of the Petitioner.

b. To issue order/decree in favour of Petitioner and against the Respondents to compensate for the violation of the fundamental rights of the Petitioner. c. To pass any other or further order/s as this Hon'ble Court may deem fit and proper in the facts and circumstances of the present case."

Section 19(8) of the RTI Act delineates the power of the Central Information Commission for awarding compensation for delay in furnishing the information. Section 20 of the RTI Act gives power to the CIC to impose penalty on the CPIO for not supplying the information sought for within the stipulated time frame.

The Writ Petition is disposed of with liberty to the Petitioner to take recourse to the remedy provided for under the RTI Act. Pending applications, if any, also stand disposed of.
