The petitioners have filed the present petition, inter alia, praying that directions be issued to respondent nos. 1 to 4 to afford them protection against the family members of petitioner no.1 (in particular respondent nos. 5 to 9).

It is alleged in the present petition that the said respondents have issued threats against the petitioners and thus, the petitioners have fear for their safety.

The petitioners state that they are currently residing in House No. 288/6, Lalita Park, Laxmi Nagar, Delhi-110092. 4.

The status report has been filed which indicates the fact that the petitioners are residing at the address as provided has been verified. It is also stated that mobile numbers of the beat staff/division staff have been

provided to petitioner nos. 1 and 2 and they are advised to contact the said officials in case of any eventuality.

In view of the averments made in the present petition and the status report filed on behalf of the respondents, this Court considers it apposite to direct the concerned SHO to evaluate the threat perception of the petitioners and provide such protection as he may consider necessary. 6.

Insofar as the complaint regarding issuance of threat is concerned, this Court does not consider it apposite to issue any direction in these proceedings. However, it is observed that petitioners are at liberty to approach the concerned SHO and it is expected that he shall act in accordance with law.

The petition is disposed of with the aforesaid directions. 8.
