This is a petition seeking quashing of FIR No. 0391/2023 dated 17.08.2023 under Sections 287/304A registered at PS Gandhi Nagar, Delhi. 2.

As per the FIR, it is stated that the son of the respondents got electrocuted while working at the factory/house of the petitioner. 3.

As per the FIR, there are no allegations of negligence or neglect on the part of the petitioner and it seems to be an accident. 4.

During the pendency of the proceedings, the parties have arrived at a settlement dated 08.01.2024, wherein the petitioner agreed to pay Rs. 5 lakhs to respondent nos. 2 to 4.

Respondent No. 2 is the father, respondent No. 3 is the mother and respondent No. 4 is the wife of the deceased Shri Adesh Kumar. 6.

The petitioner is to pay a sum of Rs. 1 lakh each to respondent nos. 2 and 3 and Rs. 3 lakhs to respondent no. 4.

Petitioner has handed over 3 DDs to the respondents bearing Nos. 516877, 516876, 516875 dated 07.12.2024 drawn on ICICI Bank totalling to Rs. 5 lakhs.

Mr. Sagar, learned counsel for the petitioner states that the petitioner shall pay an additional sum of Rs. 2 lakhs to respondent No. 4 within 4 weeks from today.

Petitioner is present in Court and is identified by Mr. Rajbir Singh Sagar, Adv. Respondent No. 2 is also present and is identified by Mr. Subhash, Adv.

Parties state that they have arrived at the settlement out of their own free will without any threat, pressure, coercion or undue influence. 11.

I am convinced that quashing of such proceedings on account of compromise would bring about peace and would secure ends of justice. It is to be noted that no amount of money can substitute the loss of life. However, money can serve as a bridge to overcome the difficulties of life due to the loss of a family member. It can lessen the burden of the family members left behind. This should not be treated as a legal precedent and in this case the proceedings are quashed as the respondent has decided to put a quietus to the matter. The Court does not see any fruitful purpose if criminal proceedings are permitted to be prosecuted any further. It is a fit case for quashing. In this view of the matter, there is no reason to continue the proceedings.

In this view of the matter, FIR No. 391/2023 dated 17.08.2023 under Sections 287/304A registered at PS Gandhi Nagar, Delhi is hereby quashed. 13.

The petition is disposed of.
