By way of the present petition, the petitioner seeks quashing of FIR bearing no. 72/2021, registered at Police Station Patel Nagar, New Delhi for the commission of offence punishable under Sections 363/366/376 of Indian Penal Code, 1860 (hereafter 'IPC').

The petitioner and respondent no. 2 have appeared before this Court in person. They have been identified by their counsels and concerned Investigating Officer (IO) from Police Station Patel Nagar, New Delhi. 5.
Briefly stated, facts of the present case are that on 15.03.2021, The authenticity of the order can be re-verified from Delhi High Court Order Portal by scanning the QR code shown above.
respondent no.2 and the petitioner, with the intention of marrying together had boarded a bus from Kashmiri Gate and had gone to Rishikesh. Thereafter, they were married in a temple at Haridwar out of their own free will and consent. It is further stated that on 16.03.2021, the father of respondent. no.2 had got registered a missing complaint at the concerned Police Station, which resulted in the registration of the present FIR. 6.
It is stated that with the intervention of common friends and well wishers, the parties have now amicably settled their dispute. The parties have married each other on 09.08.2021 and have been living happily together. They have also been blessed with one male child. 7.
On a query made by this Court, respondent no.2 who has been identified by the concerned IO, has categorically stated that she has no objection, if the present FIR is quashed.

In view of the above fact that the parties have amicably resolved their differences of their own free will, without any coercion and no useful purpose will be served by continuing the proceedings, rather the same would create further acrimony between them. It would thus be in interest of justice to quash the abovementioned FIR and the proceedings pursuant thereto. There is no legal impediment in quashing the FIR in question. 9.
Considering the overall facts and circumstances of the case and the fact that after lodging of the present complaint, on the basis of which the present FIR was registered, the parties were married and since they are living together, the FIR bearing No. 72/2021, registered at Police Station Patel Nagar, New Delhi for the commission of offence punishable under Sections 363/366/376 of IPC and all consequential proceedings emanating therefrom are quashed.
