The petitioners have filed the present petition, inter alia, praying as under:- "It is therefore, most respectfully prayed that a writ of mandamus or any other appropriate writ may kindly be issued thereby directing the respondents to ensure that the market on Sunday at or around Jama Masjid, Subhash Park, Kasturba Hospital, and Meena Bazar is not allowed to be held illegally, and no unauthorized person is permitted to squat at or around Jama Masjid, Subhash Park, Kasturba Hospital and Meena Bazar."

The present matter was listed on 05.02.2024. On that date, the learned counsel for the respondent had sought time to obtain instructions. removal of the hawkers from the "no-hawking zone" have been taken on several occasions. It is also pointed out that Supreme Court by order dated 05.05.2006 in W.P.(C) No.1699/1987 has directed the police authorities to ensure that whenever the hawkers are removed from the no-hawking zones, the areas are not re-occupied by the vendors again. 3.

We expect the concerned authorities to comply with the said direction and ensure that after the removal of the vendors from the no-hawking zone, they are not permitted to return.

Since, the respondents have taken action in regards to the removal of the hawkers from the specific area, no further orders are required to be passed in this petition.

The petition stands disposed of.
