The petitioner has filed the present petition, inter alia, seeking anticipatory bail in connection with FIR No.0260/2019 under Sections 326/498A/406/34 of the IPC, registered with PS New Usmanpur, Delhi. 2.

The petitioner is a sister-in-law of the deceased. The deceased had succumbed to burn injuries in a hospital. She had made a statement prior to her demise that she had poured kerosene oil on herself and had lit herself on fire. Subsequently, however, she altered the said statement and stated that her mother-in-law had set her on fire. She had stated that the husband had poured water over her to douse the fire. It is clear from the statement that apart from her father-in-law, her mother-in-law and her husband, no other person was present at the incident.

However, it is also pointed out that the deceased had mentioned that

her sisters-in-law used to interfere in her matrimonial life. Considering the above, this Court had by an order dated 06.11.2019, granted bail to the petitioner's sister (Bail Appl. No.2778/2019). 4.

The petitioner claims parity with the said order. The same is merited. 5.

In view of the above, the petition is allowed and the petitioner is granted anticipatory bail subject to her furnishing a personal bond in the sum of ₹20,000/- with one surety of the equivalent amount to the satisfaction of the Investigating Officer (IO). This is also subject to the condition that the petitioner shall join the investigation and cooperate with the IO. The petitioner shall appear before the IO on 18.11.2019 at 10:30 AM and answer all questions that may be put to her. She would also provide her contact details to the IO and ensure that she is available at all times. The petitioner shall not leave the National Capital Territory of Delhi without informing this Court.
