The present petition has been filed under section 528 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023 (BNSS) seeking direction/directions, order/orders to expedite trial which is pending before the court of learned JMFC, Tis Hazari, Delhi in FIR No. 325/2013, dated 24.08.2013, registered at P.S. I P Estate, Delhi for offences under Sections 420/468/471 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860 (IPC).

Learned counsel for the Petitioner states that the subject FIR was filed in the year 2013. He states that the FIR has been lodged on the allegation that the driving license presented by the Petitioner at the time of applying for CRL.M.C. 675/2025 The authenticity of the order can be re-verified from Delhi High Court Order Portal by scanning the QR code shown above. the job of Constable (Driver) was found to be invalid. 4.1. He states that the chargesheet has been filed on 26.09.2020 and charges have been framed before the Trial Court. However, the trial has not proceeded. He states that out of the 12 enlisted witnesses, 4 witnesses have been examined and the next date of hearing before the Trial Court is 20.05.2025. He states that the licensing authority which issued the driving license to the Petitioner on 29.08.2007 has renewed the said license from time to time. He states that in these facts, appropriate direction be issued to the Trial Court for expediting the trial.

Issue notice. Learned APP for the State accepts notice. He fairly states that a Coordinate Bench of this Court in CRL.M.C. 7283/2023 vide order dated 12.03.2024 has similarly issued directions for expeditious trial with respect to another FIR No. 174/2010.

This Court has considered the submissions of the Petitioner. Considering the time which has elapsed between the registration of the FIR and the present petition is 11 years, the Trial Court is requested to take up the matter for early disposal after 20.05.2025, the date already fixed and hear the matter expeditiously. The Petitioner and the prosecution are directed not to seek any unnecessary adjournment before the Trial Court and cooperate with the Trial Court.
