By way of present petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, the petitioner seeks issuance of writ of mandamus or other appropriate writ directing the respondents to grant protection to the petitioner.

Learned counsel for the petitioner states that despite having been issued a 'Rikshaw Registration and Parking Permission Certificate' by the MCD, the petitioner alleges harassment and extortion by the MCD Parking contractors, namely ZBH Services and its employees. 3.
