By way of the present petition, the petitioner is seeking quashing of FIR bearing No. 175/2025, registered at Police Station Bindapur, Delhi for the commission of offences punishable under Sections 118(1)/118(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023 (hereafter 8BNS9) and the proceedings arising out of the said FIR.

The petitioner and respondent no. 2 are present before this Court and have been identified by their counsels and concerned Investigating Officer (IO) from Police Station Bindapur, Delhi.

of respondent no. 2 alleging that on 14.03.2025 at about 02:00 AM, the complainant, being the President of the society, received a call from the security guard. He along with Vikas, r/o Flat No. 207, came downstairs and found one Ankit, a resident of the same society, engaged in a quarrel with the security guard. When the complainant intervened and questioned Ankit regarding the altercation, he caught hold of Ankit and pushed him back. Thereupon, Ankit allegedly attacked the complainant with a sharp object near his chest. The neighbours immediately took the complainant to Akash Hospital for treatment without making any call to the emergency number

112. On the basis of the complaint, the present FIR was registered under the relevant sections.

It is stated that during the pendency of the abovesaid case, with the intervention of common friends, relatives and well wishers, both the parties have amicably settled the present matter vide Compromise/Settlement Deed dated 05.12.2025, entered between them.

It is further stated that the nature of injury sustained by the injured is grievous in nature. Charges have not been framed in the present case. 6.

On a query made by this Court, respondent no.2 who has been identified by the concerned IO, has categorically stated that he has entered into compromise out of his own free will and without any pressure, coercion or threat. It is also stated by respondent no. 2 that the entire dispute has been amicably settled between the parties and has received Rs. 1,00,000/- as total compensation. Respondent no. 2 further states that he has no objection if the present FIR is quashed.

purpose will be served by continuing the proceedings, rather the same would create further acrimony between them. It would thus be in interest of justice to quash the abovementioned FIR and the proceedings pursuant thereto. There is no legal impediment in quashing the FIR in question. 8.

Accordingly, FIR bearing No. 175/2025, registered at Police Station Bindapur, Delhi for the commission of offences punishable under Sections 118(1)/118(2) of BNS and all consequential proceedings emanating therefrom are quashed, subject to costs of ₹15,000/- to be deposited by the petitioner with Advocates9 Welfare Fund, Tis Hazari Cours, Delhi within a period of two weeks from date and the compliance report of the same be filed with the Registry of this Court within a period of one week, thereafter. 9.

In view of the above, the present petition stands disposed of. 10.
