By way of the present petition filed under Section 29A(5) of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996, the petitioner and respondent jointly seek extension of the mandate of the Arbitral Tribunal for a period of three months, with effect from 01.02.2025, for concluding the Arbitral proceedings and passing of the Award.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the mandate of the Arbitral Tribunal has expired on 31.01.2025. He further submits that the mandate has been previously extended twice by this Court, vide orders dated 11.09.2023 and 07.10.2024.

Learned counsel for the respondent accepts notice and submits that the respondent has no objection to the prayer made in the petition. 5.

Learned counsels for the parties submit that the matter is at the stage of passing of the Award.

Considering the aforesaid request and the no objection given by the other side, the present petition is allowed and the mandate of the Arbitral Tribunal is extended for another period of six (6) months, with effect from 31.01.2025. It is further observed that any proceedings conducted after the expiry of the mandate shall also stand validated and regularised. 7.
