This Petition under Section 29A(5) of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996 has been filed by the Petitioner for extending the mandate of the Arbitral Tribunal which is adjudicating the disputes which have arisen under a Master Franchise Agreement dated 03.10.2016 entered into between the parties.

Material on record indicates that the Arbitral Tribunal was constituted by this Court vide Order dated 13.05.2022 in a petition being OMP (T) (COMM) No. 31/2021 filed by the Petitioner. Pleadings stood completed on 15.11.2022. It is stated that the period of one year post completion of pleadings expired on 15.11.2023. It is stated that both the parties extended the mandate by mutual consent for a period of six months as mandated under The authenticity of the order can be re-verified from Delhi High Court Order Portal by scanning the QR code shown above. Section 29A of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996. It is stated that the said period of six months expired in May, 2024. It is stated by that the mandate of the Arbitral Tribunal was further extended by this Court till 15.02.2025. The mandate of the Arbitral Tribunal will expire on 15.02.2025. 3.
Mr. Raghav Tandon, AR of Respondent, who has joined the proceedings through video conferencing, states that he has no objection for extension of mandate.

It is stated that final arguments are going on before the Arbitral Tribunal.

In view of the facts of the present case, this Court is inclined to extend the mandate of the Arbitral Tribunal till 31.12.2025, so that the award can be pronounced.

The Petition is disposed of, along with the pending applications, if any.
