This writ petition is preferred on behalf of the Petitioners under Article 226 of the Constitution of India inter alia for a direction to NDMC to allot a separate Property Identification Number (PID) in respect of Shop No.B-21, Block B, Plot No.5, Connaught place, New Delhi, which is in possession of the Petitioners as a protected tenant under Delhi Rent Control Act, 1958 for the purposes of depositing property tax with NDMC under the New Delhi Municipal Council Act, 1994 in respect of their portions. 2.

Issue notice.

Learned counsel for the NDMC appearing on advance copy of the writ petition accepts notice and takes an objection to the maintainability of this writ petition on the ground that the Petitioners have no locus to file the present writ petition. statutory embargo on the issuance of separate PIDs. 4.

Be that as it may, since the Petitioners have been representing for allotment of separate PIDs and their representations/reminders are pending, at this stage, it is appropriate to dispose of this writ petition directing NDMC to take a decision on the representation(s) made by the Petitioners, as also additionally treat this writ petition as a representation and look into the grievances as well as the legal issues raised by the Petitioners. 5.

The decision will be taken within a period of three weeks from today. If required, Petitioners may be called for a personal hearing. The decision will be a reasoned and speaking order and will be communicated to the Petitioners within one week from the date of decision. 6.

Writ petition along with pending application stands disposed of in the aforesaid terms.

It will be open to the Petitioner to take recourse to legal remedies in case of any surviving/further grievance.
