By the present petition, the petitioner seeks quashing of FIR No. 769/2024 dated 20.12.2024, registered at Police Station New Ashok Nagar, for offences under Sections 65(1)/34(2)/123 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023 and Sections 4/6 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012. 2.
The FIR was registered on a complaint given by the victim, who is stated to be approximately 13 years of age at the time of incident, alleging that the petitioner (the victim's step father) gave her a drink, after consuming which, she felt dizzy. is alleged that thereafter, the petitioner sexually assaulted the victim.

The present petition is filed on the ground that the parties have settled their disputes.

A bare perusal of the FIR shows that very serious allegations have been made at the instance of a minor child, who is stated to be approximately 13 years of age at the time of incident. The victim has alleged to have been sexually assaulted by the petitioner. Such allegations cannot be brushed aside and put to rest only because the parties have decided to settle the disputes.

The present petition is, therefore, dismissed. Pending application also stands disposed of.
