O R D E R

The present petition has been filed seeking directions against the respondents to conduct verification of identities of the voters of the Indian Library Association, against official government documents and other requisite materials, like university affiliation ID, etc. 2.

Learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submits that the voters' list being maintained by the respondent no. 2, i.e., Indian Library Association, is not proper.

He draws the attention of this Court to the voters' list, which is on record.

He submits that at serial no. 48 of the voters' list, incomplete address details of the voters are given. Similarly, he further submits that at serial no. 53 and 54, neither any full name, nor proper house address with pin code, has been given.

Similarly, he submits that the names in the voters' list at serial no. 3408 and 3409 are same, with the identical address. Thus, he submits that there are bogus voters and on that ground, election process conducted by the Indian Library Association, would be vitiated. 7.

Per contra, learned counsel appearing for respondent no. 2, i.e., Indian Library Association, submits that the elections are already over and that the result would be declared on 21st March, 2025. He has further handed over a copy an Email dated 31st July, 2024, to submit that Email was sent to all the members in the voters' list, with direction to submit their correct details, and intimate the respondent no. 2, as regards the latest status with respect to such members.

Thus, he submits that respondent no. 2 has taken appropriate measures for verification of the voters' list.

Considering the fact that the election process is already over, no directions with respect to the election process, can be passed by this Court in the present writ petition.

However, liberty is granted to the petitioner to file appropriate petition, if the petitioner is aggrieved by the election process, in any manner. 11.

Further, considering the submissions made before this Court, respondent no. 2 is expected to bring out a proper process and procedure for the purposes of carrying out a verification process for future elections. The respondent no. 2 is free to device various means, for the purposes of carrying out requisite verification process. 13.

It is further expected that in view of large number of voters, which as per learned counsel appearing for respondent no. 2 is approximately 9000 members all over India, it is expected that the verification process would be revised by the respondent no. 2. Further, the respondent no. 2 shall also involve the respondent no. 1, i.e., Registrar of Societies, in the process for authentication of the voters' list.

Accordingly, the present writ petition is disposed of, with the aforesaid directions, and with liberty to the petitioner for filing an appropriate petition.
