This petition is filed under Section 29A of the Arbitration & Conciliation Act, 1996 seeking extension of period for concluding the arbitration proceedings.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the amount involved is Rs.82 lakhs.

The original jurisdiction is not with this court. The application has to be made before the commercial court concerned. Reference in this regard be made to the decision of the Supreme Court in Jagdeep Chowgule v. Sheela Chowgule & Ors. 2026 INSC 92.

The petition is disposed of with liberty to approach the commercial court concerned.
