Present writ petition has been filed by petitioner under Article 226 of the Constitution of India read with Section 482 of the Code of Criminal Procedure seeking a direction to the respondents to produce his father, namely, Shakoor Ahmad, from their illegal confinement. 2.
Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that on the premise that the father of the petitioner was picked up by the officers of the Special Cell, Delhi, Police, the present petition has been filed by the petitioner. 3.
Learned counsel for the respondent enters appearance on an advance copy and has handed over a status report to the Court and to the counsel for the petitioner as well. Status report reads as under: "
Status Report It is stated that as per record of PS Special Cell, Delhi no person in the name of Shakoor Ahmad s/o Rahimullah r/o Village Daryapur,
Post Office & District Amroha, Uttar Pradesh has been detained or arrested by Special Cell Delhi."

In view of the status report, learned counsel for the petitioner submits that he wishes to withdraw the present writ petition to enable the petitioner to lodge a formal complaint with the local police station. 5.
Accordingly, present writ petition stands dismissed as withdrawn. The State shall ensure immediate action on the report.
