O R D E R

% 08.03.2017 The petitioner was selected for appointment as Head Constable in Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) from the sports quota. On 16th January, 2016, an offer of appointment was given to the petitioner. The petitioner claims to have reported on 16th January, 2016, as directed.

It is pleaded that after some time, RTC Barwaha re-measured the physical measurement of the petitioner and found that the height of the petitioner was 166 cms.

The requisite height for appointment as Constable is 167 cms. However, as per rules relaxation of two years in age, 5 cm in height, and 2 cm in chest might be granted to the meritorious sportsmen on need basis by the Director General, CISF.

By an order dated 27th February, 2017, the petitioner has been directed to join the CISF Unit, IPGCIL, New Delhi within 15 days from the date of receipt of the letter. We are informed by learned counsel appearing on behalf of the respondents, that the petitioner has been granted height relaxation. The petitioner has been informed that he has been detailed for basic training in the subsequent batch, as and when scheduled. In view of the aforesaid development, the writ petition has become infructuous and same is disposed of. The petitioner may make a representation to the Director General, CISF for nominal seniority and other benefits, in accordance with the law.
