% 26.02.2018 Status report has been filed. It has been informed to this Court that the prosecution witnesses have supported the case of the prosecution. Out of 14 witnesses 5 have been examined. It is stated that the other witnesses who remained unexamined although are 9 in number but the prosecution will not examine those witnesses who are not necessary.
Next date fixed before the Trial Court is stated to be 05.5.2018. Learned counsel for the petitioner points out that on an earlier date he has filed a bail application but he had not pressed it as the directions had been given to the Trial Court to expedite the trial and conclude the trial within six months; that period is long over. It is impressed upon the prosecution to examine only those
witnesses which are necessary for the conclusion of the case. The Trial Court shall examine all such witnesses who will be present before it on 05.5.2018 and conclude the evidence. Learned counsel for petitioner points out that he will be leading evidence in defence.
The Trial Court will conclude the trial within a period of three months to be counted from 05.5.2018.
With these directions petition disposed of.
