This hearing has been done through hybrid mode. 2.

The present petition has been filed by the Petitioner under Section 29A of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996 (hereinafter, 'the Act'), seeking extension of mandate of the arbitral tribunal till February 2025. The dispute in the present matter arises out of a work order dated 10th February, 2010 for setting up of a Gas Based Combined Cycle Power Generation Plant (CCPP) at Tripura.

The matter is stated to be at the stage of evidence before the ld. arbitrator. The mandate of the tribunal is stated to have expired on 3rd February, 2024.

Considering the order dated 14th December, 2023 passed by the ld. Arbitrator where a one year extension has been sought, the mandate of the Arbitrator is extended by one year.

In addition, it is noticed that the proceedings are being held in an ad hoc manner in different venues as is clear from the order itself. 6.
