By way of present petition filed under Articles 226 and 227 of the Constitution of India, the petitioner seeks directions to respondent Nos.1 and 2 to provide police protection.

The premise for filing of the present petition is that the marriage of the petitioner was fixed with daughter of respondent Nos.3 and 4. However, for certain reasons, the said marriage could not take place. It is stated that thereafter threats have been allegedly received from respondent Nos.3 and 4, and in this regard a complaint has also been given. Learned ASC for the State has taken a preliminary objection to the maintainability of the present petition. He submits that in case of any immediate threat, the number of SI/SHO, PS Dwarka has been handed over to the petitioner for assistance. Insofar as complaint given by the petitioner is concerned, the petitioner did not come forward. He further submits that the petitioner's complaint would be considered in accordance with law. 4.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner would appear as and when called.

The present petition is disposed of with a direction that the petitioner would be at liberty to seek legal recourse as may be available under law.
