This is a petition under Section 29A(5) of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996 seeking extension of time up to 31.12.2024 for making and publishing the award.

Mr. Das, learned counsel for the petitioner has drawn my attention to a procedural order dated 02.11.2022, wherein the e-mail id of the respondent was 'srini2730@gmail.com'. The affidavit of service shows that the petitioner has sent an e-mail to 'srini2730@gmail.com'. 3.

For the said reasons, I am satisfied that the service has been completed.

As per the petition, it has been stated that since the respondent was not appearing, the arbitrator adjourned the hearings and hence there was delay in concluding the arbitration proceedings. I am of the view that "sufficient cause" for delay in concluding the arbitration proceedings has been shown. For the said reasons, the petition is allowed and the time to make and publish the award is extended till 31.12.2024.
