This PIL petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondents to conduct National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (under Graduate) Examination twice a year and in multiple shifts on the lines the Joint Entrance Examination is held.

NEET is held by the NTA for the purpose of selecting students, who opt for studying medicine in various medical colleges. The Joint Entrance Examination is held for selecting students to pursue their study in various engineering courses.

In view of the aforesaid, we dispose of the writ petition with the liberty to the petitioner to represent the cause to the competent authority of the Central Government, which may consider the said application/representation as suggestion made by the petitioner and thereupon take appropriate decision. 5.
