This petition has been filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India read with Section 528 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023, praying for issuance of Writ in the nature of Habeas Corpus, seeking production of Ms. Anjalee Kumari, who is stated to be the wife of the petitioner.

Pursuant to our order dated 19.02.2026, Ms. Anjalee Kumari has appeared before us in person. We have interacted with her, with her father, as also the petitioner, in our Chamber. 3.

years, states that she would like to reside with the petitioner. As she is a major, she is at liberty to do so.

At the same time, the petitioner and Ms. Anjalee Kumari express apprehension regarding their safety at the hands of the family of Ms. Anjalee Kumari.

The father of Ms. Anjalee Kumari assures us that his daughter and the petitioner need not apprehend threat to their security and, in fact, have his blessings.

Be that as it may, we direct the concerned SHO to provide the contact number of himself/herself and of the Beat Constable of the area where the petitioner resides, to the petitioner and Ms. Anjalee Kumari. In case of any threat, they shall be entitled to contact the Beat Constable as also the SHO, and in such an eventuality, adequate security shall be provided to them.
