This petition has been filed by the petitioner seeking promotion to the rank of Inspector (GD) from the date his batchmates were promoted to the said rank, along with all consequential benefits. 2.

The learned counsel for the respondents, who appears on advance notice of this petition, submits that before filing the present petition, the petitioner has not approached the respondents with any representation on his grievance.

Keeping in view the above, we direct the respondents to consider the contents of the present petition as a representation of the petitioner and to decide on the same within eight weeks from today.
