The petitioners seek quashing of FIR No. 469 of 1999 under Sections 147/148/149/323/425/382/34 of the IPC Police Station Najafgarh, New Delhi, on the basis of a settlement. 2.

The petitioner, respondent no. 2 and 3 are related to each other. It is contended that the disputes arose on account of dispute between the families. However, with the intervention of respectable members of the family the disputes have been settled. The petitioners had agreed to compensate the respondents by paying a sum of Rs. 3 lakhs. The said amount of Rs. 3 lakhs have already been paid to the respondents.

Respondent no. 2 and 3 are present in person in Court today, represented by their counsel and are identified by the Investigating Officer. They submit that they have settled the disputes. They further submit that a Memorandum of Understanding dated 30.10.2017 has CRL.M.C. 231/2018

also been executed between the parties. They further submit that they do not wish to press the criminal complaints against the petitioners any further.

In view of the fact that the disputes between the parties has been settled, continuation of criminal proceedings will be an exercise in futility and justice in the case demands that the dispute between the parties is put to an end and peace is restored; securing the ends of justice being the ultimate guiding factor. It would also be expedient to quash the subject FIRs and the consequent proceedings emanating therefrom.

In view of the above, the petition is allowed. FIR No. 469 of 1999 under Sections 147/148/149/323/425/382/34 of the IPC Police Station Najafgarh, New Delhi and the consequent proceedings emanating therefrom are, accordingly quashed. 6.
