% 17.08.2020 (Hearing through Video Conferencing) A submission had been made on behalf of the appellant that the appellant had expired. The State has also submitted the verification report dated 11.8.2020 under the signatures of Inspector Rohitash Kumar, Anti Corruption Branch, along with the copy of the death certificate which has been verified by the State and the statements of Mr.Vivek Taneja, the son of the appellant (since deceased) and one neighbour Smt. Santosh have been annexed vouching the factum of the demise of the appellant.

In view thereof, it is apparent that the appellant has expired. The appeal against the impugned judgment dated 28.11.2001 in CC No. 50/99 and the impugned order on sentence dated 29.11.2001 stand abated and the surety of the appellant stands discharged.
