The present petition has been filed by the petitioner stating inter alia that his son, Shri Saurabh Sharma, aged 26 years is untraceable ever since 6.12.2018. D.D. No.14A was registered in this regard on 07.12.2018, at 16:03 hours, at P.S. GTB Enclave, Shahdara, Delhi but it is stated that no effective steps have been taken by the State to investigate the case effectively.

Mr. Rakesh Khanna, Sr. Advocate appearing for the petitioner states that it is now almost one month since the petitioner's son has been missing and therefore, it is a fit case where the investigation ought to be transferred from the civil police.

Issue notice.

Mr. Chaitanya Gosain, proxy counsel appearing for Mr. Rahul Mehra, Standing Counsel (Crl.) accepts notice and seeks time to file a Status Report. 5.

In the first instance, it is deemed appropriate to direct that the matter to be transferred forthwith to the AHTU Crime Branch for investigation. A Status Report shall be filed by an officer not below the rank of DCP, furnishing inter alia, the steps taken pursuant to the petitioner's son going missing on 06.12.2018.
