By way of the present petition, the petitioner prays for the following reliefs:

"a. Allow the present writ petition (civil) under Articles 226 of the Constitution Of India for issuance of an appropriate Writ, Order or directions in the nature of Mandamus Directing the Respondents to correct the Service Record Regarding Annual Increment in Salary of the Petitioner since the date of joining i.e. 01.04.1990, to pay the annual increment, benefits, arrears and dues of the petitioner, in the interest of justice." Notice is accepted by Mr. Akash Vajpai, the learned counsel for the respondents.

Given the nature of the relief claimed, we direct the respondents to consider the contents of the present petition as a representation of petitioner and decide the same within a period of twelve weeks from today by passing a speaking order and communicating the same to the petitioner. In case an anomaly is found in the pay fixation of the petitioner, the same shall be duly rectified and consequential benefits thereof shall be given to the petitioner, confined only to a period of three years prior to the filing of the present petition. In case the respondents reject the representation of the petitioner, it shall be open to the petitioner to challenge the Order, in accordance with law. 6.

We make it clear that we have not expressed any opinion on the merits of the present petition.
