Issue notice. Mr. Vasanth Rajasekaran, learned Senior Standing Counsel, accepts notice on behalf of Jawaharlal Nehru University. 2.
The petitioner is a Technical Assistant in the Central Library of the respondent - University. He was appointed to this post with effect from 18.05.2012. His grievance is that despite fulfilling the eligibility conditions for promotion to the post of Senior Technical Assistant, and being the senior-most in the cadre of Technical Assistant, he has not been W.P.(C) 1908/2025 The authenticity of the order can be re-verified from Delhi High Court Order Portal by scanning the QR code shown above. considered for promotion. It is stated that no Departmental Promotion Committee ["DPC"] has been held at all for the post of Senior Technical Assistant. The petitioner has made several representations to the University, which are annexed to the petition as Annexure P-7, P-10, and P-12. According to the petitioner, the representations have failed to elicit a response.

Learned counsel for the respondent states that he has no instructions despite advance service of the petition. 4.
At this stage, it appears to me that if the University does not intend to hold a DPC, or to consider the petitioner's case, the least that is required for the University is to communicate its reasons for the same to the petitioner. The respondent is, therefore, directed to respond to the petitioner's representations, and consider the grounds taken in the writ petition, within a period of six weeks from today. 5.
The writ petition is disposed of in these terms. 6.
The rights and contentions of the parties are left open.
