O R D E R

% 17.01.2019 The petitioner is present in the Court alongwith her parents. Yesterday's order has been complied with. The petitioner states that she has been harassed physically and mentally by her in-laws and that she would like to be with her parents for some time. The movement of the petitioner cannot be hindered by any person. In particular her ingress and egress into her matrimonial home shall be unhindered. Let it be so ensured by the police.

Mr. Ramesh Gupta, the learned Senior Advocate appearing on behalf of the petitioner's in-laws assures the Court that there shall be no hindrance to her from the parent's-in-law or the larger family. Her in-laws live on the ground floor while the petitioner lives on the first floor. He further submits

that the proceedings under the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act 2005 are underway, a Local Commissioner has been appointed and the petitioner's matrimonial status and the physical condition is being assessed.

In view of the aforesaid, the petitioner shall be provided due protection by the Station House Officer (SHO) of the area of her residence in Delhi. She will be interacted with and will be provided three telephone numbers of police officers including one of the lady police officer. The latter shall visit her daily for the next one month and report the same in the Roznamcha. The numbers shall be kept operational at all times so that any exigency can be intimated on either of the numbers by the petitioner. The Court is assured by the learned counsel for the State that any message received on the said numbers or on any other telephone number of the police either by way of a telephone call or SMS shall be immediately responded to.

The safety and security of the petitioner shall be assessed by the SHO on a weekly basis with due endorsement of the same in the Roznamcha. The learned counsel for the State submits that the SHO concerned shall duly sensitize the petitioner's in-laws about her fundamental right to live her life peacefully and nobody has a right to interfere in the same. In view of the above, no further orders are required. The petition stands disposed-off with liberty to the petitioner to approach the Court in case of any difficulty.
