O R D E R
% 27.03.2026 By way of the present petition filed under section 528 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita 2023, the petitioners seek quashing of case FIR No. 58/2001 dated 16.03.2001 registered under sections 420/468/471 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860 ('IPC') at P.S.: Kanjhawala, Delhi.

The FIR names 08 accused persons, 05 of whom are stated to have passed-away, as detailed in the list of dates and events, which position is not disputed by respondent No.2, who has filed an affidavit in support of the present petition.

The court is also informed that one of the accused persons viz., Subhash Chand has not joined the petition as a co-petitioner. 4.
The petition is premised on Settlement Agreement dated 28.11.2025 arrived at through mediation before the Delhi High Court Mediation and Conciliation Centre whereby the contesting parties have resolved the matter amicably.

Petitioner No.1 has joined the proceedings via video-conferencing. She is stated to be in hospital on her death-bed. 6.
Petitioner No.2 is present in court.

The petition is also supported by affidavits of the petitioners and of respondent No. 2 to 7.

Petitioner No.2 is present in court; whereas the remaining contesting parties have joined the proceedings via video conferencing. Their credentials have been verified and they have also been identified by their respective counsel.

The court has interacted with the contesting parties who have confirmed that they have now resolved the matter and a Settlement Agreement dated 28.11.2025 has been signed by them closing all issues amicably. Parties now wish to live in peace and harmony going forward.

Ms. Richa Dhawan, learned APP confirms that the State has no objection to the subject FIR being quashed.

In the circumstances, in line with the law laid down by the Supreme Court in Gian Singh vs. State of Punjab & Anr. reported as (2012) 10 SCC 303 as also in Narinder Singh & Ors. vs. State of Punjab & Anr. reported as (2014) 6 SCC 466, this court sees no reason why the The authenticity of the order can be re-verified from Delhi High Court Order Portal by scanning the QR code shown above.
subject FIR and all proceedings emanating therefrom should not be quashed. This court is of the view that in light of the settlement between the contesting parties, continuing with the subject FIR and all subsequent proceedings would be an exercise in futility and would not be conducive to peace and harmony between the parties. 12.
In view thereof, considering the statement made by the privaterespondents, the case FIR No. 58/2001 dated 16.03.2001 registered under sections 420/468/471 of the IPC at P.S.: Kanjhawala, Delhi is quashed. All proceedings arising therefrom also stand closed. 13.
Petition stands disposed-of.
