By way of the present petition, the petitioners seek quashing of the FIR bearing No. 192/2025, registered at Police Station Uttam Nagar, Delhi, for the commission of offence punishable under Sections 137(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhia, 2023 (hereafter 'BNS') and all proceedings emanating therefrom.

Issue notice. The learned APP accepts notice on behalf of the State. 3.

The petitioners and respondent nos. 2 and 3 are present before this Court and have been identified by their counsel and Investigating Officer (IO) concerned from Police Station Uttam Nagar, Delhi. 4.

Brief facts of the case are that the present FIR was registered at the instance of the parents of the complainant/respondent no. 2 on 15.04.2025, as the daughter of respondent no. 2 had eloped with the present petitioners. now amicably settled their dispute vide Settlement Deed dated 18.02.2026. 5.

The contents of the FIR have been perused. This Court notes that the victim in this case was over 17 years of age, however, less than 18 years of age, at the time of alleged incident.

On a query made by this Court, respondent nos. 2 and 3 who have been identified by the IO, have categorically stated that they have entered into compromise out of their own free will and without any pressure, coercion or threat. Respondent no. 3 further states that she knew the petitioners herein, prior to the incident. Therefore, they have no objection, if the present FIR is quashed.

In view of the above, that the parties have amicably resolved their differences out of their own free will, and without any coercion, no useful purpose will be served by continuing the proceedings, rather the same would create further acrimony between them. It would thus be in interest of justice to quash the abovementioned FIR and the proceedings pursuant thereto. There is no legal impediment in quashing the FIR in question. 8.

Accordingly, FIR bearing No. 192/2025, registered at Police Station Uttam Nagar, Delhi, for the commission of offence punishable under Sections 137(2) of BNS and all consequential proceedings emanating therefrom are quashed.

In view of above, the present petition stands disposed of. 10.
