The Petitioner has applied for the post of Professor (Social Science & Humanities) pursuant to Advertisement No. AUD/07/Acad./2024. He appeared for an interview before the Selection Committee on 19th December, 2024. However, as the results have not yet been declared, the present petition has been filed with a limited prayer seeking directions to the Respondents to declare the results of the interview in a time-bound manner. 2.

On the previous date, this Court had directed Mr. Mohinder J.S. Rupal, counsel for the Respondents, to seek instructions, having regard to the limited nature of the relief sought. submits that a complaint under the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013 had been received against the Petitioner. He submits that, apparently, the Petitioner has now tendered an apology before the Internal Complaints Committee (ICC); however, a final decision is yet to be taken, and the declaration of the interview result is contingent upon the outcome of the said proceedings. 3.

In light of the foregoing, and considering that the interview was conducted as far back as 19th December, 2024, this Court is of the view that the Respondents ought to complete the process within a reasonable and time-bound framework so as to ensure clarity and finality for the Petitioner. 4.

Accordingly, the present petition is disposed of with a direction to the Respondents to declare the result of the interview within a period of twelve weeks from today.

It is clarified that this Court has not made any observations on the merits of the complaint under the POSH Act or the proceedings before the ICC. The reference to the same is only in the context of the submission made on behalf of the Respondents.

All rights and contentions of the parties are left open. 7.

Pending applications are also disposed of.
